Have you taken a moment to check in with your self today?

Go ahead.

I’ll wait.

.

.

.

Did you do it? I’m not messing around. My newsletters are interactive. I’m calling you to action.

Stop everything you’re doing (including reading my email, even though I know how much you love my emails…) and check in with yourself.

First, try listening. If you’re actively listening, you’re not thinking about the things you have to do today or imagining scenarios where I show up at your doorstep to tell you that I know you didn’t actually close your eyes and follow the instructions in my newsletter. You’re just listening.

What do you hear?

If the answer is nothing, try asking questions. Approach yourself as if you’re approaching a friend – a friend who is a little shy. Here are some good starting points:

How are you?

What is something you did this week that you enjoyed?

What is hurting you?

You’ll find that the more often you ask, the more you’ll hear. It will be easier and easier to listen.

The hardest part of all of this, by far, is remembering to take the time to check in with yourself.

You know I’m gonna invite you to dance it out first…go ahead and shake your body!

Now, Write yourself a love note and put it on your night stand. It can go something like this:

Hello love,

I know you’ve had a long day, and you can’t wait to drift off to sleep. But before you do, take just one minute to say hello to me. We don’t have to talk long. I just want to know that you’re here for me.

After awhile of doing this every night, it will become easy. Your natural instinct will be to check in with yourself. It will ripple into all aspects of your life.

Diet: do I actually want this food? Or am I snacking to cover something else up?

Work life balance: do I have the energy to work right now, or is my body telling me I need to go to bed?

Relationships: am I really upset, or is this actually about something I am needing?

Connecting with our true selves and listening to what we need results in calm, clarity and confidence.

Find a way that you can take time to listen.

One of my favorite ways is meditation. When you signed up for my mailing list, you received my meditation series. I’d like to gift the first episode to you again now, because now may be the time when you need it. Now may be the time where this meditation practice leads you into a new relationship with your true self.

The first episode is called Own Your Throne, and you can listen to it HERE. I hope that you find it healing and inspiring. I hope that from this episode, you can find the courage and confidence to move forward into a practice of listening to yourself and living in a relationship with your true self.

Here’s to you, and your journey. May it be everything you want it to be.

All my love,
