This week we have been talking about movement.
I just LOVE it. Yoga, dance, more dance. It’s the heart and soul of my existence. Movement is great for the body and the mind. I hope that you’ve been inspired to MOVE this week. I hope that you’ve taken your movement to a new level of devotion and exploration. And now, I’m going to ask you to take your movement another level deeper.
It’s time to move your mind.
Where are we moving it to?
Out. Out of your comfort zone. Out of your “limits” and beyond your fear.
I was recently talking to a friend about resilience. I adore the word resilience. There’s something so pleasant about both the word itself and the idea it represents.
Google dictionary says: Resilience: the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.
Note how non-judgemental this definition is. It doesn’t imply that life won’t get you down. It leaves room for understanding that things are hard, and sometimes you fall. You’re not perfect. You can’t deflect everything. You can’t always be strong enough to carry the load.
Sometimes you fall. It’s just a truth of life.
To be resilient means you get back up.
We tend to think of the strong as those who never fall, but this offers a beautiful parallel. Toughness. The strength to recover. Which is a much more practical and compassionate form of strength. One we can all strive for.
Resilience is a trait that some people are born with. If you’re not one of those, don’t despair. Resilience is something you can build. It’s a trait you can manifest, by pushing yourself.
Push yourself out of your comfort zone. Frequently. Do things that you fear. Change. Grow. Fail. Try again. It takes persistence.
My journey has not always been easy. That’s me trying to say it lightly. The truth is, there have been many times where my journey has been really damn hard. I have cultivated my resilience. There were times where I thought the struggle would overcome me. I thought that it was more than I could handle. But I found a way to pick myself up. And that is what you have to do if you want to make an impact in the world.
So, do you? Do you want to serve and make a great impact on the world?
Do you want to travel to destinations and teach? Do you want to grow your business as you travel? Do you want to own being center stage in photo shoots and your social media? Do you want to be your greatest inspiration and lead your followers, students and fans?
Do you want to be your greatest self? A self that is resilient. A self that is STRONG.
