How do you “tune in?”

Life is busy. That’s pretty much a consistent truth across the board. There are things to do, places to go, things that need cleaning and people that need visiting. There’s work to be done, and rest to be done whenever we get the chance. Oh – and that long list of just-for-fun projects that you try to squeeze in between the rest of life to make you feel human.

Our minds are busy racing from one thing to another, constantly holding our crazy long to-do-list in there somewhere, making sure we don’t forget (because of course, the world would end immediately if we forgot to pick up kitty litter).

It’s like we are running, constantly. Somehow this “running of the mind” is even more exhausting than physical running, which is REALLY saying a lot (unless you are one of those extraordinary people who finds running enjoyable).

What happens when you stop?

The funny thing is, probably nothing.

When I am able to remind myself to stop, two things happen. I don’t consciously will either one of them to happen, my body takes over and does it on it’s own.

  1. I close my eyes.
  2. I let out a deep sigh, and then my breathing slows down.

It’s like my insides are giving me a big hug.

Hey there. I missed you. Everything is okay. Just sit here with me for a little while.

Suddenly we are surrounded by warmth and love. By a wisdom that comes from our insides. Our filter on life changes and things seem easy. In fact everything seems quite wonderful.

Have you experienced this sensation before?

The problem is that the more we go, the harder it is to stop. That is a big part of what’s wrong with our culture and our society. We are stuck in our heads, day to day. Our mind is racing. It’s a big, fast, tiring mental game.

We don’t take the time to stop.
We don’t take the time to hear our BODY’s wisdom.

Our bodies have 5 parts, but we are primarily dwelling in one. Where do you spend your time?

Physical
Mental
Energetic
Wisdom
Spiritual

There are different techniques you can use to tune into your bodies. Movement and sound are two of many ways to keep your body in flow, in alignment.

How do you connect? I’d love to hear your ideas.

Maybe you’re not sure how to. I have an answer for that.

This Saturday I’ll be opening up early bird tickets for EMBODY, our 3rd annual 2 day immersion for women, in Encinitas, CA. It’s happening this October and I’d love to have you join. Watch for more information later this week.

Today, when you finish this email, take a moment to check in with yourself.
Listen and learn.
Ask your inner self if you are called to attend EMBODY.

Hope your inner self says yes <3

Blessings and hugs,
