I am just returning from four days in Joshua tree, in Southern California. Every year for the past 10 years, I have taught at Shakti and Bhakti Fest where a few thousand people gather to open up through song, dance, chanting mantras, yoga, and gobbling up transformational workshops and experiences. Shakti Fest is in May on Mother’s Day weekend, and Bhakti Fest happens in September. These festivals have a gorgeous vibe of awakened souls, presence and deep connection.
So much happens during these weekends and It’s hard to describe because no words can really convey what occurs. One thing I do know is that if we shift from the norm of our daily lives, we let go of “figuring things out”. You could say, we are out of control (in a GOOD way!). And then, be FREE!
The desert environment can be harsh. This weekend was a melange of cold wet rain with wind, and then furnace-like heat. Over the years, I have learned that self-care is beyond necessary so we can break free from the headiness of our daily lives and shed what no longer serves us, in order to serve in our greatest potential.
Many of you courageous souls came to one or or all 4 of my classes over the weekend, wow, it was a powerful expansion. The theme that was really present was “returning to our true selves” — this means remembering who we truly are and serving the world and our missions from this authenticity.
I am back at home now, writing to you from my home office, I am reminded of what we did together as a community — we shifted on all levels — physically, emotionally, energetically, and connected in with our spiritual selves.
